[friends] Weekly Update & Food Drive Challenge

[Friends of St. Christina Orthodox Church]

Dear Friends:
 
Christ is in our midst.
 
This past Saturday we had a wonderful Open House. Friends from the area as
well as visitors and inquirers from the community all had the opportunity to
come and learn about us as a community and the Orthodox Church.  It was a
wonderful afternoon! 
 
Attached is our bulletin and prayer list from last Sunday. 
 
I have also attached a copy of a food shopping list as we are attempting to
fill our food drive canister this Weekend so that we can get food to the
County Food Bank that is especially in need at this time of year. Please
bring what you can to help us with our goal. Wouldn;t it be wonderful if the
food was overflowing from the canister?
 
Some other reminders

*	Altar server training - Saturday November 18
*	Feast of the Entrance of the Theotokos (Tuesday November 21) -

*	Monday the 20th at 7:00pm we will be celebrating the Vigil for the
Feast. The vigil service is approximately an hour and a half.
*	Tuesday the 21st at 7:00am we will be celebratign the Divine Liturgy
for the feast. The service starts early enough so that most people can get
to work on time afterwards.

*	I Believe Inquirer;s class will meet as usual on Tuesday evening at
7:30pm - This weeks topic is the Worship of the Church: why do we have
different types of services (Vespers, Matins, etc.) and what do they mean?
Classes are open to everyone, even if they have not participated earlier.
