[friends] St. Christina of Tyre Mission Weekly Update

Dear Friends of St. Christina
 
Alex Prescop and I returned from the Diocesan Council last night. Alex will
be giving a presentation on the Assembly this weekend, so I will not go into
details. However, I will say that it was a wonderful opportunity to gather
with our brothers and sisters in the diocese, the diocese is growing and
appears to be in good health. 
 
Attached is last week's bulletin and prayer list to keep you up to date on
all that is going on.
 
Some reminders:

*	Our Inquirer's class will meet tonight at 7:30pm. We will be
presenting and discussing the basics of the Church's teachings on the Holy
Trinity. As always, everyone is welcome to attend any of these classes.
*	This Saturday at 11:30 we have our monthly service project to feed
lunch at our local homeless shelter. If you are interested in participation
please contact Bonnie Prescop (tedap at comcast.net) 
*	This coming Monday (Oct 9) in celebration of Our beloved St Tikhon,
Enlightener of North America we will have a molieben at 7pm. We will be
asking for his intercessions for our mission as well as for the entire
Orthodox Church in America. In these times, His and our prayers are
particularly important so try to attend.
*	On Monday Oct 9 after the Molieban we will be having our monthly
parish council meeting.
*	Next week our Inquirer's Class and Adult Education class will resume
their normal schedule.
*	Next Friday (October 13) our Young Adult Book Club will meet at
Round Table Pizza at 6pm near the church and will continue our discussion of
The Divine Liturgy by Hugh Wybrew (additional copies are available).

Don't forget our upcoming lecture series on Icons at the Fremont Public
Library. The lectures will be on Monday Oct 23 at 7:30pm and Saturday Oct 28
at 3:30pm. I have attached the flyer for you to distribute to others.
