[friends] Weekly update, bulletin, prayer list and March calendar

[Friends of St. Christina Orthodox Church]

Dear Friends,
 
Attached is our bulletin and prayer list from Sunday as well as our March
Calendar.
 
This past weekend we were able to send off the results of our drive for the
wish list of our adopted troop in Iraq. Three large boxes are now on their
way. By the grace of God 36 boxes of Emergen-C, along with all kinds of
Vitamins, Neosporin, Asparin, Blankets, Socks, over a dozen DVDs, salsa, 3
CD players as well as a CD of a recorded Vespers at St. Christina and a copy
of our Transitions in Orthodox Music CD should be arriving in Iraq late next
week. 
We are still in need of donations to help cover the postage. If anyone is
interested they can speak to me, Maha, or simply send a donation with it
clearly marked to go to this purpose.
 
We also received the results from our paper icon drive. The youth of St.
Christina's collected and sent 670 paper icons to the Orthodox Church in
Mexico. Thank you!
 
We are still accepted bakers to help with our Palm Sunday "Kulich" Bake Sale
for the community. Please speak to Alex Prescop about helping if you can.
 
Tuesday evening began our first of 4 sessions of adult education on the
meaning of Baptism & Chrismation in the Orthodox Chrsitian Church. 
 
Reminders

*	Tonight at 7pm we will celebrate the Liturgy of the Presanctified
Gifts followed by a lenten potluck.
*	Friday night at 7pm we will celebrate the Akathist Hymn to the
Mother of God, the Healer of Cancer.
*	This weekend we leave daylight savings time and will spring forward
1 hour. They are doing it three weeks early this year. Remember to set your
clocks!
*	Our youth lock-in is coming up on March 23-24. We are looking to
have a good crowd from the parishes in the bay area. Be sure to register!
