Dear Friends,

Attached is our weekly bulletin and prayer list.

 

Time is drawing close for our raffle drawing. We are going to hold the
drawing after our October Annual Meeting on Oct 28. We are asking everyone
to bring in their ticket stubs and funds this coming Sunday (the 21st) so we
can make sure all the tickets are sold in time.

 

We are also coming up on the Bay Area dinner to benefit IOCC which is being
held on Sunday November 4. It is taking place at Holy Trinity Serbian
Orthodox Church in Moraga. Tickets are $50. We will have a signup sheet this
Sunday for anyone who is interested in attending this wonderful event.

Also, this Sunday is the deadline for RSVPing for our Youth Lock-in on the
26&27.

Orthodox Study Bible at Greatly Reduced Price!

We have received notice that the new Orthodox Study Bible which includes a
new English translation of the Old Testament Septuagint (the OT the Church
uses) is coming out in February. They are offering a significant discount
for pre-orders (before December 15) and an even bigger discount if you order
by the case. There are several members of the mission who are interested in
purchasing copies and we thought we would arrange for more people to take
the benefit.

 

The normal cost of a hardcover version is 49.95 and a leather bonded version
is 79.95. By pre-ordering and ordering by the case the hardcover version
would cost 27.48 and a leather bonded version would cost 43.98. You will
need to add 8% CA sales tax as well as $3 per bible for shipping.

 

If you are interested in purchasing copies please email us at
mail at stchristinaorthodox.org indicating if you would like the hardcover or
the bonded leather and how many copies. There will also be a sign-up sheet
in the fellowship hall. We need everyone's order by Dec 9 so that we can put
the order together.

 

The bibles are schedule to be shipped in February of 2008.
