[friends] Mission Update and Reminders... Vigil Tonight at 7 for the Exaltation of the Cross

Dear Friends

 

Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory forever!

 

After two weeks of computer issues our bulletin and prayer list are back as
are our weekly email updates. The new Church Year has begun and God has
already been exceedingly gracious!

 

Our Church picnic was on Labor Day at Holy Cross Monastery in Castro Valley.
The Monks were so welcoming and everyone had a wonderful time. It was record
attendance for us for the picnic and the monastery trees provided much
needed shade. We prayed in the monastery chapel (wow! What acoustics!), we
ate all the incredible food everyone brought and got to play a bit together
thanks to the games people brought. It was a wonderful way to start the
year!

 

We also kicked off our church school year and are deep into another
wonderful Year of Grace in our Lord. I do want to thank all of you who have
already supported our Raffle for our building fund. We are well on our way
to selling the 200 tickets. There are some tickets still left. If you are
interested please contact me or Mary Zellem (see bulletin).

 

In a separate email, I will be letting you know more information about the
Banquet and Silent auction we are hosting on Oct 7 at the Centerville
Community Center in Fremont to raise funds for our building fund. We hope we
will be able to see some of you.

 

In the mean time, may the Lord grant us all every blessing to us this week
for our salvation.

.         Tomorrow (Thursday Sept 14) - 7:00am Divine Liturgy for the
Exaltation of the Cross
