Dear Friends

 

Attached are the bulletin and prayer list from this past week.

This past Sunday it was great to see so many people stay to find out about
our property search. Many thanks go out to Erik Worth for his excellent
presentation and setting up the process along with the Parish Council. If
you could not make the meeting the information is easily available at
church. With each of us pitching in, doing what we can, the Lord will guide
us to our new home.

 

Reminders

.         This is the final week for our current adult education classes.
Our next session will begin Tue Oct 9 through Nov. 6 and will be on the
Church of the Apostles. We will particularly be looking at the book of the
Acts of the Apostles.

.         This weekend there will be a sign-up sheet for people to indicate
how they can help with our property search. 

.         There is also a sheet to sign-up to help with our fundraising
banquet for our building fund on Oct 7.

.         Monday September 24 at 7:00pm in celebration of All Saints of
Alaska we will sing the Akathist Hymn to the North American Saints.

.         The enthronement of His Grace Bishop BENJAMIN will take place on
Tues Oct 2 at 10 am followed by a banquet at fisherman's warf. Everyone is

.         The Diocesan Assembly is taking place Oct 2-3 in San Francisco.
Judy Martinez and I will be representing our mission. If you have any
questions you would like to raise please see either one of us.

 

News.

Orthodox Christian Education Commission to hold workshop this weekend. The
information was sent to our church school teachers and has been posted on
the bulletin board  weeks ago, but there might be other people interested.
It is not too late to register. Simply call the number on the sheet (see
attached).

We have been invited to to hear FATHER MARTIN RITSI ORTHODOX CHRISTIAN
MISSION CENTER DIRECTOR speak in San Jose on Sunday Sept. 30. Information
about the invent follows.

WHEN:    SUNDAY, 30 SEPTEMBER

Father Martin will celebrate the Divine Liturgy at St Basil's and deliver
the homily. Father Martin will then travel to our sister church, St Nicholas
Greek Orthodox Church, where he will also deliver the homily there.

Following the homily at St Nicholas, a light luncheon will be served at St
Nicholas by the Philoptochos Societies of St Basil and St Nicholas. After
the luncheon, Father Martin will give an inspiring and not-to-be-missed
presentation on the work of the Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC).
