Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory forever!

 

Attached is our most recent bulletin and prayer list. In addition to the
bulletin and prayer list I have also attached a form to help all of you
submit your recipes for our cookbook. Print it out, fill it out (pen, pencil
or crayon), and bring it in to Church. One clarification: please be sure
that you submit your version of a recipe and not just what you find in a
cookbook. We don't want to end up with copyright issues.

You can also always submit recipes via email to Judy Martinez who is
formatting everything. Her email is martjudith at sbcglobal.net. 

 

This has been quite a week (and it is only Tues!)!!

 

I know many of you have been praying for us and our efforts to find a new
more permanent home.

While we have not reached "home base" as yet, it is clear that your prayers
are having an effect.

We were able to meet with the owners of the Parish Ave property and received
a positive response to the idea of purchasing the property rather than
leasing it. We also received positive word back from the City of Fremont
that they are willing to meet with us and to determine how they can work
with us to make this project work.

As I said, not a "home run" quite yet, but the Lord is opening many doors
and opportunities for us.  There are many challenges still ahead, including
raising the final $28-30,000 we still need to go ahead with our plan, so
please keep those prayers coming. While finances are important and
necessary, it is only through love of Christ and prayer that will get us
into a new home. Thank you for all your support!

 

As is mentioned in the bulletin I will be leaving on vacation from Aug 7-13.
Fr. George Masters will be filling in for me during that time. If you need

408-978-9479. I will also be monitoring my voicemail daily so if there is an
emergency and you need to reach me please call at 510-333-8814. 

 

 

Reminders for this week:

Tonight (Tuesday) 7:00pm - Vigil for the Feast of the Transfiguration of Our
Lord

Wednesday 7:00am - Divine Liturgy for Transfiguration followed by the
blessing of fruits.
