Dear Friends

 

Glory to Jesus Christ!

 

I currently at the airport returning home from a wonderful mission retreat
hosted by our diocese. 

It was a joy not only to be able to have fellowship and exchange ideas with
other Orthodox missions in our diocese but also missions in the Diocese of
the South, the Archdiocese of Canada and the Bulgarian Diocese. There is so
much good taking place throughout the church in our missions. The commitment
of the clergy and faithful in these communities is a testament to their
faith and love for our Lord and it incredibly affirming to know that our
efforts are by no means the only one's taking place in our Orthodox Church
in America.

 

We also had the benefit of hearing excellent presentations from missionary
priests in these areas. I have made audio recordings of the talks and am
putting them on disk (DVD) for anyone who would like to listen to them on
their computer. They will be in the mission library.

 

For more information on what is happening with our mission I have attached
our bulletin and prayer list from this past week. It was truly a blessing to
have Anastasia Pamela Barksdale with us from OCMC telling us about the
missionary work taking place in Albania on Sunday. May we continue to pray
for her and may the Lord bless all the ministry taking place of there.

 

Some reminders:

.         There is no class this evening for the Orthodox Christianity 101
class. We will resume next week.

.         For those who have not scheduled their house blessings, please
contact me so that we can do so before the beginning of Great Lent on March
10.

.         Next week in addition to our adult education classes on Tues
(7:30) and Thurs (7:00) we will be singing the Akathist to St. Raphael of
Brooklyn on Wednesday evening at 7:00pm
