[friends] Mission Update & News about Boniie Prescop

Dear Friends of St. Christina

Attached is our bulletin, up-to-date prayer list from this past Sunday as
well as our upcoming calendar for March.

As we announced after Church, our beloved sister is Christ, Bonnie Prescop
is in the hospital. I was able to visit her yesterday. She is not in pain,
but has loss of feeling. Her surgery was postponed, as they wanted to do a
few more tests and get another opinion. In true Bonnie style, she is in very
good spirits and is more concerned for Alex and for her daycare families
than for herself.  If you would like to send her a card and/or flowers she
is at El Camino Hospital 2500 Grant Road Room 611B, Mountain View, CA 94040
for the next couple of days. You can also send them to their home. We will
be sure to let you know if we hear of any progress. Please keep her Alex,
Mary Ted, & Juliana, as well as Bonnie's day care families in your prayers. 

Also, we received a wonderful thank you note from Pamela Barksdale after her
visit with us last Sunday. She has asked for all the missions and parishes
that are supporting her through prayer and financially to send her a picture
for her to create a Prayer Partner Poster.  It has been over a year since
our last Mission Photo. We are planning to take a PHOTO on March 9th of
EVERYONE IN OUR MISSION after Divine Liturgy. We really want to try and get
everyone in the photo. If you will not be able to be there on that day,
please contact me with days you will definitely be able to be there, for us
to determine an alternate date. 

REMINDERS FOR THE WEEK:

.         Tomorrow evening (Tuesday) at 7:30pm we will be continuing our
Adult Education Class on the Early Church after the Apostles Class.

.         Wednesday evening at 7:00pm we will celebrate the Akathist to St.
Raphael of Brooklyn. Our Church in America and here in Fremont needs the
intercessions of our North American Saints. 

.         Thursday evening at 7:30pm we will continue our Orthodox
Christianity 101 Class. This week's topic is the Church's understanding of
the Bible. Everyone is welcome even if they have not attended so far.

.         This coming Saturday is a Memorial Saturday Liturgy during which
we pray for all our departed fathers, mothers and relatives young and old.
We will be celebrating the Divine Liturgy at 9:00am and will read the names
of our departed. If you would like the departed members of your family
included please bring a list with you on Saturday.

.         This Saturday is our monthly turn to serve lunch at the Tri-Cities
Sunrise Village Homeless Shelter at 11:30am. We are a bit short handed this
week and ask for people to come and help. People who are interested can
contact Diane Worth (408/942-1575) and/or Barbara Wilson (925/461-6248). It
runs from 11:30 to about 1pm.

.         This coming Sunday we are having a Potluck for Meatfare Sunday. I
will be cleaning the grill and getting a new tank of propane for anyone who
would like to bring something to cook.

Lastly, several families have arranged for house blessings in the coming
weeks, but there are still some of you out there that have not. Please
contact me about scheduling your house blessing before March 10.
