Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory forever!

 

Attached is our bulletin and updated prayer list. Fortunately, the computer
was cooperating and we are back to normal! Also attached is our calendar for
February.

 

This past Sunday was our annual financial meeting. It was very good to hear
the questions and input from everyone during the meeting. It is evidence of
everyone's love and concern for our mission. We now have a budget in place
for 2008 that should serve us well in our life as a community and it's
ministries.

 

Since Maha had to work this weekend and was not able to attend the meeting,
leaving some questions without conclusive answers, I forwarded the questions
to her, and asked if she would respond to them. She said that it was no
problem and she would be able to do so after Liturgy on Feb. 10. If you have
a question for her, please feel free to email them and she will be sure to
be respond to them.

 

Reminders

.         This Sunday is our Youth's "Souper Bowl Sunday Project" to raise
funds and collect food for the hungry. Please be sure to remember to bring
at least 1 can of soup and $1 for this important collection that helps so
many. The youth will be preparing a soup lunch during fellowship hour for
all of us as part of the project, as well as collecting, counting donations
and cleaning up afterwards.

.         Tonight (Thursday) we will continue our Orthodox Christianity 101
Class at 7:00pm. The topic is the Orthodox Church's teaching on the Holy
Trinity. 

.         Friday night at 7:00pm we will celebrate the Vigil for the Feast
of the Meeting of our Lord in the Temple.

.         Saturday morning at 9:00am we will celebrate the Divine Liturgy
for the Feast with the Blessing of Candles.

.         Saturday at 11:30am our mission is serving lunch at the Tri-Cities
Homeless Shelter in Fremont.
